This program is designed to introduce learners to the principles and practice of product design, focusing on User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design.

Participants will gain a strong understanding of design thinking, visual design principles, user research, and prototyping tools. They will also learn to create interactive designs that solve real problems and deliver meaningful experiences to users.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Overview of the Design Process


Module 2: Design Thinking & UX Fundamentals

  • Principles of Design Thinking

  • Understanding Users & Problem-Solving Mindset

  • UX Research: Surveys, Interviews, and Observations

  • Creating User Personas and User Journey Maps

  • Defining User Flows


Module 3: UI Design Fundamentals

  • Principles of Visual Design (Balance, Contrast, Hierarchy, Alignment, etc.)

  • Color Theory and Typography in UI

  • Layout and Grid Systems

  • Accessibility and Inclusive Design

  • Consistency & Design Systems


Module 4: Tools for UI/UX Design

  • Introduction to Figma

  • Working with Frames, Shapes, and Components

  • Creating Wireframes and Low-Fidelity Prototypes

  • Interactive Prototyping and User Testing in Figma

  • Design Handoff for Developers


Module 5: Usability Testing & Iteration

  • Importance of Usability Testing

  • Methods of Testing (Moderated, Unmoderated, A/B Testing)

  • Analyzing Feedback and Making Iterations

  • Documenting and Presenting Design Decisions


Module 6: Advanced Product Design Practices

  • Microinteractions & Motion in UI

  • Designing for Web vs Mobile

  • Responsive & Adaptive Design Principles

  • Introduction to Information Architecture (IA)

  • Design Collaboration in Teams (Agile/Scrum + Design)


Capstone Project

Learners will select a real-world problem and design a product around it, delivering:

  1. User Research Report (Personas, Journey Maps, Flows)

  2. Wireframes & Prototypes (Figma)

  3. Final Product Design Portfolio Piece
